As part of public space development and management projects, assessing the health and structural condition of trees is an essential step in ensuring user safety while promoting the conservation of the tree heritage. Ecofirst therefore conducts phytosanitary assessments to determine the vitality of trees, diagnose potential diseases, and evaluate their structural stability.

These assessments are conducted on behalf of partners such as C² Projet and the Wallonia-Brussels Federation. The assessments are based on detailed field observations (condition of the crown, trunk, and root system), the identification of pathogens or structural defects, as well as the evaluation of potential risks to the environment and nearby infrastructure.

To date, five phytosanitary assessment projects have been completed, focusing on the analysis of row trees and isolated trees located in various landscape settings. These assessments inform management decisions, whether regarding conservation measures, targeted pruning interventions, or, when necessary, recommendations for removal accompanied by appropriate replanting proposals.

Through this approach, Ecofirst contributes to the sound and sustainable management of the tree heritage, balancing safety, biodiversity, and landscape enhancement.
