(FR) Study of the Green and Blue Network of the municipality of Courcelles
Within the framework of high-voltage network adaptation projects (infrastructure projects) carried out by Elia, Ecofirst was commissioned to develop the Blue and Green Network (Trame Bleue et Verte) of the municipality of Courcelles.
The first part provides an introduction to the key concepts of TVB and presents the methodology used. It also describes the collection of data and the local stakeholders consulted, which enabled a more coherent understanding of the territory. The relative importance of each dataset was also weighted for 50 m² pixels according to three networks: green, blue, and fragmented. Each pixel is then assigned a synthetic ecological value summarizing these three networks.
The second part presents the cartographic results of the applied method. It particularly highlights the importance of protected areas (Vallée du Piéton, Terril de Bascoup, etc.) as well as Agri-Environmental and Climate Measures, which help increase the ecological value of areas under conventional agriculture. Furthermore, this work makes it possible to identify, at the municipal scale, areas that could be better connected in order to promote the movement of fauna and flora.
The third part focuses on general recommendations as well as specific recommendations for each network. It presents a prioritization of these recommendations in a pragmatic way, based on their overall contribution to the ecological network, the economic feasibility of the actions, and consultation with the municipality.
The final part outlines the limitations of this study, which help provide a better understanding and appreciation of the report.
