(FR) General acoustic data management and recording settings recommendations for professionals

Ecofirst is privileged to work on a series of projects using raw datasets from various types of studies, collected either by us or by various partners and collaborators (engineering consultants, associations, government agencies, academic partners, and volunteers). This gives us the opportunity to use different types of equipment, to experience different ways of working, and to gain a thorough understanding of the practices and methods applied by each party within the broader context of acoustic data collection and analysis, particularly for the study of bats.

This note, written without pretension, simply aims to formulate, based on this experience, a series of recommendations to facilitate the tracking of completed operations and to avoid a series of pitfalls and problems that may arise with the data at different stages of their collection and analysis. These recommendations can serve as guidelines for engineering firms and other professionals in the sector to improve their practices, but they also provide study sponsors with guidelines to ensure (whether before or after the study) the quality of the work performed.
