(FR) Biodiversity-friendly management of high-voltage lines

Since 2011, the Belgian and French electricity transmission system operators have been conducting experiments to transform forest rights-of-way under high-voltage power lines into ecological corridors. Seven innovative actions reconciling safety on the power grid and biodiversity have been put into practice on one hundred and fifty kilometers of corridors in France and Belgium. Now it's time to take stock, with highly encouraging results in terms of both biodiversity and estimated financial savings over a thirty-year period. These actions, supported by the European Commission (Life+ program), could serve as models for the entire European network.
