(FR) Biodiversity-friendly management under high-voltage lines

Since 2011, the Belgian and French electricity Transmission System Operators have been conducting experiments to transform forest rights-of-way under high-voltage power lines into ecological corridors. Thus, 7 innovative actions combining safety on the electricity grid and biodiversity have been implemented on 150 km of forest corridors in France and Belgium. Results are very encouraging, both in terms of biodiversity and estimated financial savings over a 30-year period. These actions, supported by the European Commission, could serve as models for the entire European high-voltage network.
